Managing Test Methods and Analysis Types

Each schedule created in Corvium CONTROL is for a specific test method. This is the test you will perform or request from your outside lab to perform on the sample you have taken. Each test method for your site will be associated with an analysis type. The analysis type will typically be the organism that the test method is trying to find.

Before adding a new test method you will need to select the analysis types you will be testing for in your facility/plant.

To select analysis types:

  1. Log into Corvium CONTROL
Note:  You must have 'Administration Access' in order to access the settings.
  2. Click your name in the upper right and select 'Settings'.
  3. Click the 'Test Methods' button on the left side of the Settings page.
  4. Check the box next to each Analysis Type you would like to use.
  5. If one is not there, our Corvium support team can add it for you - just ask!

To create a new Test Method:

  1. Log into Corvium CONTROL.
  2. Click your name in the upper right and select 'Settings'.
  3. Click the 'Test Method' button on the left side of the Settings page.
  4. Click the 'Create New' button in the Test Methods section.
  5. Fill in the Test Method Name and assign the Analysis Type.
  6. Select the Result Type: Positive/Negative (for a qualitative result) or Pass/Fail (for a quantitative result).
  7. (optional) The Lab Method field can be filled in with the name a 3rd Party lab uses for this method.
When integrating CONTROL with a LIMS, this name can help differentiate between lab vs. plant test name designations.
  8. If Pass/Fail is selected as the Result Type enter a value for the Threshold.
    • Any value greater than or equal to this number entered as a result will default the result to Fail.
    • Specific thresholds can be added for different parts of the plant (Zone, Program, etc.) by clicking the green button 'Add Rule' and selecting filters for your different threshold designations (Shown Below).
  9. Click 'Save' to add your test method.

Confirmation Labs and Confirmation Types

If you are confirming the sample results after a presumptive positive is found, you can also add a list of Confirmation Labs that can be used to request confirmations. This list could contain your corporate labs or potentially third party labs that your company may use. If you decide to create a list of acceptable confirmation labs, you can also create a list of Confirmation Types that can be requested from the labs.
